Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: Install and repair plumbing systems across campus and campus housing, with knowledge in both commercial and residential installations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Install new residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing systems.
2. Perform various plumbing repairs.
3. Participate in on-call rotation for emergencies.
4. Gain knowledge of campus water and waste infrastructure.
5. Learn campus building layouts.
6. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of basic pipefitting, troubleshooting, and plumbing system repair.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and O&M manuals.
• Professional appearance and presentation.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Commitment to continual growth in the field.

OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to drive a motorized vehicle.
• Exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.
• Exposure to temperature variations.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Repetitive foot movements for operating foot controls.
• Repetitive hand movements involving grasping and manipulation.
• Frequent head and neck movements.
