Qualifications

• 2+ years of residential plumbing service experience.
• Active Virginia plumbing license (Journeyman or Master).
• Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and service calls as directed by dispatch.
• Arrive on time to your first call each day and update customers with accurate ETAs.
• Walk the customer through what to expect during the call using the expectation card.
• Complete a thorough inspection of the plumbing system on every call, noting issues found.
• Present clear repair and replacement options based on customer needs.
• Share information and pricing on service agreements and other improvements.
• Debrief with dispatch after each call and note parts used for replenishment.
• Keep your vehicle stocked, inventoried, clean, and safe; pass quarterly vehicle inspections.
• Return defective warranty parts and unused inventory to the branch.
• Accurately complete all required documentation, including checklists and hours/materials used.
• Maintain a professional image in company-approved uniform.
• Participate in company training and follow safety policies.

Ostrom Electrical Plumbing Heating & Air is seeking a skilled and dependable Residential Service Plumber to join our team! In this role, you will diagnose, repair, install, and maintain residential plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment, delivering excellent service and a 5-star customer experience on every call.

What You'll Do

• Perform maintenance and service calls as directed by dispatch
• Arrive on time to your first call each day and keep every customer updated with accurate ETAs
• Use the expectation card on arrival to walk the customer through what to expect during the call
• Complete a thorough inspection of the plumbing system on every call, following the evaluation checklist and notifying the customer of any issues found
• Present clear, tiered (ABC) repair and replacement options based on the customer's wants and needs
• Share information and pricing on service agreements, accessories, and other comfort improvements
• Debrief with dispatch after each call and communicate any parts used for replenishment
• Follow the PO process for non-truck-stock parts to ensure accurate pricing and a high rate of warm-call completions
• Keep your vehicle stocked, accurately inventoried, clean, and safe — and pass quarterly vehicle inspections
• Return defective warranty parts and unused inventory to the branch
• Accurately complete all required documentation, including checklists and hours/materials used
• Maintain a professional image in company-approved uniform at all times
• Participate in company training and follow all safety policies, reporting any safety concerns to a manager or team leader
