Job summary

Smartsearchonline is seeking a General Manager to lead its Plumbing Service Department, overseeing service plumbers and technicians across residential and commercial properties. You will partner with dispatch, vendors, and other leaders to ensure quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a deep understanding of both technical plumbing and business operations, with a focus on growth of maintenance and service contracts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of plumbing management experience.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of plumbing trades and systems.
• Experience leading and developing service technicians.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and control docs.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays when needed.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of the Plumbing Service Department.
• Schedule, manage, and support service technicians based on workload and needs.
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, and evaluate technicians.
• Oversee plumbing repair, installation, start-up, troubleshooting, and service.
• Review work for quality, safety, and standards compliance.
• Develop and maintain training programs and safety practices.
• Coordinate with dispatch to optimize scheduling and response times.
• Monitor projects, labor hours, materials, and budgets.
• Manage warranties, vendor issues, and equipment concerns.
• Generate service contracts and project estimates/bids.
