The City of Sunrise seeks a Plumbing Plans Examiner to review plumbing plans, inspect field installations, and enforce Florida Building Code requirements. The role supports compliance across projects within Sunrise and is guided by the Chief Plumbing Inspector.

Ideal candidates hold Florida licenses and are versed in Broward County amendments, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and effective communication with owners, contractors, and inspectors alike.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED is required.
• Certification as Plumbing Plans Examiner by Broward County BORA is required or feasible.
• Active Florida BCAIB/plumbing plans examiner licensing eligibility is required.

Responsibilities

• Review plumbing plans to ensure Florida Building Code compliance.
• Perform field inspections of plumbing systems in new construction or repairs.
• May issue stop work orders for code violations when directed by supervision.
• Investigate permits issues and document violations for potential prosecution.
• Assist in prosecution and represent the City at hearings as needed.
• Provide superior customer service and respond to inquiries from property owners and contractors.
