Job summary

Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to join its team in San Francisco. The role supports project delivery from concept through construction with increasing mentoring responsibilities.

Responsibilities include design development, calculations, Revit layouts for HVAC/plumbing, and coordination across disciplines. The candidate will engage in early design strategy and QAQC while developing leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent, required.
• P.E. licensure required.
• 5+ years in the AEC Industry preferred.
• Experience with Revit is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design development and calculations for mechanical systems across phases.
• Independently perform mechanical design tasks including load calculations and equipment sizing.
• Prepare technical documentation for mechanical systems and specifications.
• Develop and review mechanical system layouts in Revit in coordination with other disciplines.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams to resolve design conflicts.
• Review RFIs and submittals with support from engineers.
• Perform field verification and participate in construction observation.
• Mentor mechanical designers and interns in software use and best practices.
