Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the Commercial Plumbing industry.
• Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
• Must pass all pre-employment screenings.
• Must adhere to company policy and procedures.
• Reliable transportation.

Position Description:
Old Dominion Mechanical, LLC is currently seeking a Plumbing Mechanic for our team at our Charlottesville location. Our plumbing mechanic would be working with our foreman’s/ superintendents to provide exceptional commercial plumbing needs to our current clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in commercial buildings, including but not limited to office spaces, retail establishments, and industrial facilities
• Review/ interpret blueprint & technical drawings to determine layout of plumbing and related materials.
• Identifies and safely uses required tools and special equipment.
• Tests & inspect plumbing systems and fixtures to identify issues and perform necessary repairs and or replacements
• Maintains documentation for all building codes, installation requirements, and relevant legislation.
• Performs scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Applies all codes to installations, repairs, and maintenance.
• Ensures all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met.
• Ensures all installations, repairs, and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, and graded; that they meet the requirements of the appropriate codes; and that they meet environmental protection requirements.
• Keeps daily reports.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient project completion
• Comply with all safety guidelines and regulations

Additional Responsibilities:

Train and mentor apprentices as needed

Identify and recommend improvements to project workflows

Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all site-specific safety protocols

Provide feedback to supervisors on material needs or system performance issues

Required Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the Commercial Plumbing industry. Proven experience as a Commercial Plumbing Mechanic. Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills. Knowledge of basic electricity, electrical and control systems. Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints, specifications, and schematics. Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings. Must adhere to all company policy and procedures. Reliable transportation

Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly

Working in elevated locations, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions
