Job summary

Sierra Air in Reno, NV is seeking a Plumbing Maintenance Trainee to start a hands-on career in a high-demand trade. 8-Week Paid Training begins September 14, 2026, with opportunities to earn 60k-80k+ in the first year through commissions and base pay.

You will learn plumbing inspections, general maintenance, and customer interactions while developing sales skills. A valid driver’s license is required and a supportive team offers benefits and professional growth.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plumbing inspections and consultation to determine maintenance, repair, and replacement needs.
• General maintenance including drain cleaning, leaks, water heater repair and replacement.
• Develop customer service skills by assisting clients and addressing concerns.
• Adhere to safety standards and regulations and mitigate risks.
• Maintain accurate service records and prepare reports for management.
• Participate in on‑the‑job training and attend workshops to build plumbing skills.

*** 8-Week Paid Training beginning September 14th, 2026. Plumbing Sales Techs can earn $60-80K+ in their first year!

Key Responsibilities:

• Plumbing inspections and consultation: Conduct general plumbing & water quality inspections to determine maintenance, repair, and replacement needs in residential settings to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes.
• General maintenance: Learn to diagnose and resolve plumbing issues, such as drain cleaning, repairing leaks, water heater repair and replacement, and other preventative maintenance.
• Customer interaction: Develop customer service skills by assisting with client interactions and addressing their concerns professionally.
• Safety and compliance: Adhere to all safety standards and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment. Identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
• Documentation: Assist in maintaining accurate records of services performed and parts used. Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory agencies to review.
• Training: Participate in on‑job training and attend workshops to develop plumbing skills and knowledge. Continuously educate and train to stay updated with the latest plumbing codes, regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of customer service and/or sales experience. Experience with in‑home, consultative sales is a plus.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and follow instructions.

• Physical ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
• Current and valid driver's license in the state in which you will be working.
