Job summary

Virginia Peninsula Community College seeks an Adjunct Plumbing Instructor to teach NCCER Core and Plumbing Levels 1-2 in the Workforce Development Department. Instructors may teach day, evening, or weekend courses as scheduling requires, with assignments drawn from a standing pool.

The position supports training needs, maintains equipment and inventories, and collaborates with local industry to keep curriculum current and to create a pipeline of job opportunities for graduates.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Significant work experience within the Plumbing field.
• Prior experience delivering or developing training.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience and/or strong interest in teaching adult learners.
• Ability to work at all campus locations.

Responsibilities

• Design and delivery of instruction for day, evening, or weekend classes.
• Deliver courses covering knowledge of Plumbing Systems.
• Assess and grade students; maintain on-campus presence.
• Communicate with students, staff, and administrators in a timely manner.
• Maintain program inventories, supplies, and equipment; ensure instructional materials are ready.
• Establish and maintain relationships with the Plumbing industry to ensure relevant training and job pipelines.
