Job summary

CRD Careers is partnering with a family-owned business to hire a Plumbing Instructor for our Long Island City campus in Queens, NY. The role combines teaching with hands-on plumbing expertise, offering full-time and part-time options, with structured support and curriculum.

You will train students, assess progress, and maintain records while promoting safety and best practices in the trade.

Qualifications

7+ years of professional plumbing experience.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Google Classroom.
Teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
Field experience, leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Teach plumbing fundamentals, trade theory, and hands-on practical skills.
Demonstrate proper techniques, tool usage, and industry best practices.
Emphasize job-site safety, including safety procedures and job safety analysis.
Guide students through practical exercises and hands-on assignments.
Monitor student progress, evaluate performance, and provide constructive feedback.
Maintain attendance, grades, and required student records.
Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and used safely.
Create a positive, structured learning environment that supports students with different experience levels.
