Job summary

Arlinghaus Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning is seeking a Plumbing Apprentice to learn residential plumbing through hands-on training, diagnostics and repair under experienced plumbers.

You will gain skills in accessing pipes, installing and maintaining systems, while upholding safety standards and delivering quality customer service in a family-owned, growing company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Trade schools or vocational training preferred but not required.
• On-the-job experience of 6 months minimum preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cutting into walls or removing concrete to access pipes.
• Assist with repairing or replacing sections of pipe to stop leaks.
• Assist with minor repairs to plumbing fixtures.
• Support lead installer in all plumbing system installations and maintain organization on site.
• Help establish customer rapport to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Trade school or vocational college experience preferred

On-the-job experience 6 months minimum preferred

The Role

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist with cutting into walls or remove concrete to access pipes.
• Assist with repair or replacing sections of pipe to stop leaks.
• Assist with performing minor repairs to plumbing fixtures.
• Assist lead installer in all plumbing system installations; be efficient and accurate.
• Know how to establish customer rapport to ensure highest levels of satisfaction.
• Show yourself as professional and knowledgeable to win new referrals and repeat business.
• Assist in properly staging jobs, adhering to quality checklist.
• Support lead installer in maintaining a clean, organized job site and well inventoried truck.
• Participate actively in all formal exercises and on-the-job training to master installations
• Determine the right tools or materials needed to fix issues, leaks, or malfunctioning systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
