The City of Royal Oak is seeking a Plumbing Inspector to enforce the State Plumbing Code and perform related inspections at Royal Oak City Hall. The role requires interpretation of codes, coordination with the Building Official and Deputy, and a balanced, tactful approach to enforcement.

Qualifications include on-file MI Plumbing Inspector and Plan Reviewer eligibility, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Currently registered, or eligible to become registered as a Plumbing Inspector and Plan Reviewer by the State of Michigan.
• Valid motor vehicle operator's license with satisfactory driving record.

Responsabilidades

• Inspect plumbing installations during construction and upon completion for compliance with the State Plumbing Code.
• Enforce the State Plumbing Code provisions relating to water service and drainage connections.
• Assist contractors and plumbers in making out applications for permits and issue permits.
• Inspect all new and repaired sewer connections and water service connections.
• Investigate complaints regarding plumbing and sewers.
• Assist contractors and plumbers in conforming to local and state cross connection codes and regulations.
• Prepare reports and keep records.
• Perform related work assigned.
