Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is assisting a well-established commercial mechanical and plumbing contractor in Fairfield, NJ, in search of a Plumbing Estimator to join its team.

The role focuses on preparing estimates for larger, complex commercial projects and requires strong knowledge of plumbing systems and construction practices. You will review drawings and bid documents, perform detailed takeoffs, and coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and project teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial plumbing estimating experience.
• Strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems and construction practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with estimating/takeoff software and Microsoft Excel.
• Plumbing trade or field experience is a major plus.
• Experience with Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam, Planswift or similar platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate estimates and competitive bids for commercial plumbing projects.
• Review architectural, mechanical, and plumbing drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform detailed labor and material takeoffs.
• Obtain and analyze pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, vendors, and customers.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project turnover.
• Support design-build and negotiated projects from conceptual estimating through final proposal.
