Job summary
Schnackel Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Plumbing Engineer in New York to design, analyze, and implement plumbing and fire protection systems for diverse building projects.
The role requires preparing drawings and specifications, performing load calculations, and coordinating with other disciplines to meet project goals. The ideal candidate holds an Architectural Engineering degree with a mechanical/plumbing emphasis or a Plumbing Engineering degree, and has 2–3+ years of plumbing design
Qualifications
- Degree in Architectural Engineering with a Mechanical or Plumbing emphasis.
- 2–3+ years of plumbing design experience with an MEP engineering consultant.
- Engineer-in-Training credentials in Plumbing Engineering.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and implement plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial and residential projects.
- Perform load calculations and pipe sizing as required.
- Develop system layouts and prepare detailed drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with other design disciplines to ensure fully coordinated designs.
- Provide construction administration and respond to RFIs as needed.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors for selection and specification of equipment.
