Job summary
Schnackel Engineers is seeking a Plumbing Engineer in New York, NY to design, analyze, and implement plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial and residential projects. You will perform load calculations, develop layouts, and prepare detailed drawings while coordinating with other disciplines.
The role requires an accredited degree in Architectural Engineering with a Plumbing emphasis or a Plumbing Engineering degree, plus 2–3+ years of design experience and Engineer-in-Training
Qualifications
- Accredited degree in Architectural Engineering with a Mechanical or Plumbing emphasis or a Plumbing Engineering degree.
- 2–3+ years of plumbing design experience with an MEP engineering consultant.
- Engineer-in-Training credentials in Plumbing Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the client and design team to ensure a fully coordinated interdisciplinary design and schedule.
- Participate in meetings and conference calls when needed.
- Use AutoCAD/Revit to create document packages including plans with equipment, piping, and specs.
- Perform load calculations, pipe sizing, and related plumbing design calculations.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors for selection and specification of equipment.
- Provide construction administration services, including answering RFIs.
