Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 6+ years of experience in engineering with plumbing systems; medical gas experience preferred.
• Experience designing plumbing systems for healthcare, higher education, or commercial buildings.
• Knowledge of current plumbing and energy codes.
• Project management experience is a plus but not required.

• Lead technical design and quality control for plumbing systems on assigned projects.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure cohesive designs.
• Apply and uphold best practices in engineering methods.
• Produce construction documents for new buildings, renovations, and additions.
• Handle construction administration tasks including site visits and shop drawing reviews.
• Identify and implement strategies to improve cost-efficiency.
• Develop comprehensive project specifications.
• Update and correct drawings based on QA feedback.
• Assist the director with quality assurance reviews.

The Plumbing Engineer will collaborate with the project team throughout the design and construction phases, ensuring plumbing plans align with budget constraints, other design disciplines, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Certifications & Licenses

• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam required.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred, but not required.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to use an insured personal vehicle for work-related travel.
