Job summary

WSP in Denver, CO is seeking a Plumbing Engineer to join our Property & Buildings Team. You will design plumbing systems for a variety of facilities, from commercial to healthcare, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams through all project phases.

The role emphasizes design development, calculations, code compliance, BIM coordination, and client coordination, with opportunities for mentoring junior engineers and advancing sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
• 3-5 years of relevant plumbing engineering experience in building systems design.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop plumbing systems for building projects including domestic water, sanitary waste, stormwater, gas, medical gas, and specialty piping.
• Perform calculations, sizing, load analyses, and system evaluations to support design solutions.
• Prepare layouts, riser diagrams, schedules, specs, reports, and construction documents.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, fire protection, structural, architectural, and civil teams.
• Support project delivery from planning through construction admin and closeout.
• Conduct site visits and facility assessments to document conditions.
