Job description

Overview:

Our client is a well-established consulting engineering firm that is a national pioneer in the development of net zero energy buildings. They are currently seeking a Plumbing Engineer to join their growing team within the Richmond market!

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Work closely with customers to create designs, calculate constructions, and select appropriate installation equipment and systems.
  2. Serve as lead Engineer on projects.
  3. Perform routine inspection of all equipment and components, and assist in fabrication if needed.
  4. Evaluate all design drawings according to required quality regulations.
  5. Responsible for performing quality assurance reviews on projects.
  6. Draft technical documents.
  7. Provide training and mentoring to junior engineering staff.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in plumbing design.
  2. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree.
  3. EIT or PE are a bonus.
  4. Experience in a variety of commercial projects (like biotech, semiconductor, educational, etc.).
  5. Experience in conceptual and detailed design for new-construction and TI projects is required.
  6. Must have a thorough knowledge of plumbing design and corresponding terminology.
  7. AutoCAD and REVIT software experience.
