Job summary

IPD Engineering is seeking a Plumbing Engineer to lead plumbing design from concept through construction administration on projects. You will develop plumbing designs and construction documents, coordinate with junior engineers, and support field construction, handling shop drawings, RFIs, and field issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead design discussions and carry design concepts through drawings.
• Design plumbing systems for construction drawings (plans, risers, details, schedules).
• Perform plumbing-related calculations.
• Coordinate with other trades during design.
• Develop project details, equipment schedules, and specifications.
• Contribute to sustainable design discussions and implement sustainability as appropriate.
• Administer construction administration for plumbing scope items and ensure conformance to contract documents.
• Respond to project questions and concerns in a timely and thorough manner.
• Research applicable project codes and regulations; conduct engineering research as necessary.

Job description

The Plumbing Engineer serves as the lead plumbing engineer on projects from concept through construction administration. The role involves developing plumbing designs and construction documents, coordinating design tasks with junior engineers when appropriate, and supporting projects through construction. The Plumbing Engineer also reviews shop drawings, responds to RFIs, and works directly with contractors in the field to address construction issues and support successful project execution.
