Job summary

DBR in Houston is seeking a Plumbing Designer I to support design on selected projects, collaborating with designers and BIM staff to deliver high-quality results on schedule. The role involves applying DBR design standards, providing schematic information, performing preliminary calculations, sizing equipment, creating drawings, researching options, and ensuring compliance with design standards.

A related degree or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering or architectural engineering.
• One year related work experience with technical/associate degree, or two years with high school diploma.
• Experience reading construction drawings and using BIM drafting software.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply DBR design standards per design manual and PAL direction.
• Provide schematic design information such as preliminary calculations and equipment sizing.
• Make calculations using engineering software and have calculations reviewed with mentor.
• Research and select equipment based on mentor recommendations and fill out schedules.
• Prepare drawings to incorporate into final drawings.
• Incorporate design concepts into development and produce construction documents.
• Organize and maintain project files and ensure accessible information for team.
• Maintain workload communication with Project Manager or mentor.
