Job summary

Livingston Associates in Rochester, NY is seeking a Plumbing Apprentice to learn and assist in installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

You will work with experienced plumbers, attend on-the-job and classroom instruction, and progress through an apprenticeship program while earning $19–$24 per hour. Full-time, Monday–Friday, with standard daytime hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License and own transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Willingness to participate in apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities

• Assist journeyman and master plumbers with installation and repair of piping systems.
• Learn to read blueprints and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems.
• Measure, cut, and assemble pipe using hand and power tools.
• Assist in locating and repairing leaks, clogged drains, and other plumbing issues.
• Prepare job sites by cleaning, organizing tools, and ensuring materials are ready.
• Maintain tools and equipment and ensure they are used safely and properly.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and OSHA safety standards.
• Attend on-the-job training and classroom instruction as required by the apprenticeship program.
• Other tasks deemed necessary by supervisor.

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Plumbing Apprentice to join our growing team in Rochester, NY. Thisis an excellent opportunity for individuals who are looking to start a long-term career in the plumbing trade. Youwill work alongside experienced plumbers to learn all aspects of the plumbing profession, including installation,maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist journeyman and master plumbers with the installation and repair of water, drainage, gas, and otherpiping systems.
• Learn to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems.
• Measure, cut, and assemble pipe using hand and power tools.
• Assist in locating and repairing leaks, clogged drains, and other plumbing issues.
• Prepare job sites by cleaning, organizing tools, and ensuring materials are ready.
• Maintain tools and equipment and ensure they are used safely and properly.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Demonstrates desire to develop knowledge and skill of the operation and repair of all types of heating and
• ventilation systems
• Ability to work at various heights, work in changing temperatures, and lift, move, and/or carry heavy (up to 75 pound) objects
• Valid NYS Driver’s License
• Own transportation

Desired Skills & Knowledge

• OSHA 10 Hour Class Certification
• Previous construction or trade experience
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
• Excellent interpersonal skills
