Job summary

Duane Blanton Plumbing, Sewer, Heating & Cooling is seeking a Plumbing Service Manager to lead residential plumbing, sewer and drain operations, including service delivery, repairs, maintenance, and customer service.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a background in sewer and drain work, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include team leadership, training, scheduling, budgeting, and ensuring safety and compliance across the department.

Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing service, sewer and drain service.
• Leadership or management experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of residential plumbing, sewer and drain diagnostics, repair, and service.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to coach and develop technicians.
• Financial and KPI management experience.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical/drug screen and background check.
• Valid driver’s license with a solid driving record; chauffeur’s license if needed.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, solve problems, and work independently as well as with a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of service plumbers, sewer and drain technicians, sales representatives and support staff.
• Develop and implement training programs to improve technical proficiency and safety.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
• Oversee daily sewer and drain operations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
• Manage scheduling and dispatching of technicians.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and resolution of service issues.
• Assist with customer inquiries, complaints, and escalated service concerns.
• Monitor department performance, revenue, expenses, and profitability, and manage budgets to improve performance.
• Ensure accurate and timely billing and invoicing.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulations.
• Stay current on industry practices, technology, and sewer and drain solutions.

What Does It Take?

• Proven experience in plumbing service, sewer and drain service, or a similar role.
• Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of residential plumbing, sewer and drain diagnostics, repair, and service.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to coach and develop technicians.
• Financial and KPI management experience.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical/drug screen and background check.
• Valid driver’s license with a solid driving record; ability to obtain a chauffeur’s license if needed.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, solve problems, and work independently as well as with a team.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and climbing stairs or ladders. Employees must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and safely navigate residential job sites, including basements, crawl spaces, and other confined areas. The role may include technician ride‑alongs, job‑site inspections, and occasional assistance with troubleshooting or service‑related activities. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors and may involve exposure to varying temperatures, weather conditions, dust, dirt, wastewater, and other conditions commonly encountered in residential sewer and drain environments.
