Job summary

Midlands Technical College in South Carolina is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Entry Level Plumbing certificate courses. The role involves lectures, discussions, and lab activities, aligning instruction with course objectives and maintaining high teaching standards.

Located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus, the position requires 3–5 years of residential plumbing experience, 1 year of supervisory/training experience, and relevant SC licenses.

Qualifications

• Must have a broad knowledge of the Plumbing industry and teach courses in the Entry Level Plumbing certificate.
• Demonstrates command of both Plumbing theory and practice; genuine interest in helping students.
• Prior experience in education.
• A Plumbing Certification through the Municipal Association of South Carolina; or a South Carolina Mechanical Contractors License; a South Carolina Residential Builders Commission's Specialty Contractors License in Plumbing is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Relates instruction and material to course objectives.
• Maintains a high level of excellence in teaching by communicating and interacting effectively with students.
• Prepares materials needed for instruction and ensure the readiness of facilities for class activities; evaluate and report students’ progress; assign and assist students on class projects; create and deliver lecture demonstrations.
• Keep student records and adheres to course schedules.
• Assists Program Director with timely notification of any shortfall in supplies or equipment needed for lab instruction.
