Job summary

Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) is seeking skilled trades personnel to maintain potable water and sewage systems for facilities in the Baltimore metro area. The role involves outdoor work in all weather and potential heavy lifting, with essential status and emergency callback requirements.

The position reports to the Skilled Trade Specialist Supervisor in the Central Region and may require rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: 3 years in skilled trades plumbing work.

Responsibilities

• Purge boilers regularly and test safety features.
• Inspect and repair sewage lift stations, pumps, hours, operation, and cleaners.
• Inspect building and tunnel sump pits, test storm water removal.
• Perform service inspections of fire hydrants and check valves.
• Locate and repair water mains and valves.
