Job summary

Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) seeks a journey level electrician to install, repair and maintain electrical systems across MDTA facilities. Duties include working with lighting, control systems, signage, transformers, and emergency standby power.

Work is outdoors in all weather or inside MDOT buildings, may require lifting heavy objects, climbing high poles, and working in cramped spaces. Essential employee status applies.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
• Experience: Three years of experience performing skilled trade work as an electrician.
• Additional related experience or vocational training may substitute for required education or experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain electrical equipment such as ballasts, conduit, panels, relays and roadway lighting systems.
• Perform work outdoors in all weather or inside MDOT facilities; may handle objects over 50 pounds and work on high structures or cramped spaces.
