Job summary

The Department of Corrections, Division of Juvenile Corrections, is recruiting a Plumber for the Milwaukee Youth facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The incumbent performs journeyman-level plumbing duties, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining plumbing and related mechanical systems in accordance with codes, plans, and work orders.

Starting pay ranges from $53.36 to $55.08 per hour, with a probationary period and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid, unrestricted Journeyman Plumber license or Master Plumber license.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain eligibility to drive a state vehicle.

The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Plumber position, located at the Milwaukee Youth facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Position Summary

The incumbent performs duties at the journeyman level of skill under general supervision utilizing the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of the Plumbing Trades.Responsibilities include inspecting, repairing, and maintaining all plumbing and related mechanical operations, (including heating, ventilating, and the distribution systems) in accordance with the provisions of plumbing codes, pertinent plans, and specifications or work orders.

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule and range 04-00 with a starting pay of $53.36/hour, $54.22/hour, or $55.08/hour, depending on the amount of leave selected. Pay wil l be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required.

This position is not eligible for remote work. This position has physical requirements, including but not limited to standing, walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, and pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying up to 75lbs. This position will work within a wide range of temperatures, in dusty, dirty or confined areas or areas that are noisy. This position will also work within close physical proximity to youth and other staff.

Must have the ability to work up to 16 hours per day and more than 40 hours per week on any shift based on operational needs, which may include weekends and holidays.

This position requires a valid driver's license, the ability to meet state fleet eligiblity, and the ability to travel.

Possession of a valid, unrestricted Journeyman Plumber license or valid, unrestricted Master Plumber licensed issued by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
