Job summary

New Mexico State University in Las Cruces seeks a Plumber Lead to supervise journey-level plumbers and trades helpers and participate in repair, maintenance, inspection and installation of campus plumbing systems.

You will plan work schedules, estimate materials and labor, assign tasks, monitor progress and ensure timely project completion while adhering to safety standards. Standard schedule M-F, 8-5; wage $21.11 per hour. Requires NM Journeyman licenses and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with relevant trade experience.
• Needs NM journeyman licenses as listed (plumbing and gas fitter) and a valid driver's license.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Leads the work of Journey-level Plumbers and Trades Helpers and participates in the repair, maintenance, inspection and installation of systems and Journey-level crafts projects. Assigns and inspects the work of Plumbers and Trades Helpers; initiates corrective action to secure satisfactory standards and timely project completion. Plans and develops work schedules, equipment usage schedules and procedures for equipment maintenance. Determines material and labor estimates. Participates in maintenance, repair and installation duties in the trades.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• High School diploma + 4 years of relevant experience or an Associate’s
• Degree + 2 years of relevant experience.

Special Certification/Licensure:

• NM Journeyman Plumbing License.
• NM Journeyman Gas Fitter License.
