Job summary

NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Plumber II (S) to provide facility plumbing maintenance at a close custody male facility in North Carolina.

Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, and repair of air, gas, water, and waste disposal systems, with independent work on routine tasks and supervision by a foreman. Minimum education is high school/GED with two years piping experience; licensure may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience in the repair, replacement or construction of piping systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform journey-level duties in installation, maintenance, and repair of air, gas, water, and waste disposal systems.
• Perform routine work assignments and repairs as needed; handle special or unusual tasks with instructions.
• Exercise independence on routine work; unprecedented tasks discussed with foreman.
• Be reviewed by foreman through inspection of progress and operation of installed/repaired equipment.
