Qualifications

• High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in the repair, replacement, or construction of piping systems.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Applicants may be subject to a criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Possessing working knowledge of the methods of installation and repair of commercial plumbing, as well as safety precautions of the plumbing trade.
• Using power tools associated with plumbing trade, cutting and threading pipe, utilizing motorized and mechanical tools, and familiar with building, life, and safety codes.
• Soldering copper pipe and utilizing the standard tools and materials required for those types of procedures.
• Making material list(s) for projects and submitting to supervisor for review.
• Making up lead joints and installing various types of plastic pipe, also knowledge in replacing stainless steel and porcelain plumbing fixtures.
• Supervising semi-skilled male offenders and subject to emergency call back.
• Ensuring 24/7 staffing coverage by being scheduled to work weekends and holidays and any shift, as required.
