Job summary

E-ONE, part of Terex Corporation, is seeking an assembler in New York to perform plumbing, electrical, and mechanical assembly for fire truck components. The role involves reading engineering documentation, building piping and wiring harnesses, and conducting functional testing to ensure safety and reliability.

The successful candidate will work on LEAN initiatives and collaborate with manufacturing teams to meet quality and production standards in a fast-paced environment at our NY location.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, BOMs and specifications.
• Experience performing pipe cutting, threading and installation.
• Electrical harness assembly and wiring knowledge.
• Install and repair plumbing systems per build requirements.
• Troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

E-ONE manufactures custom and commercial fire trucks including pumpers and tankers, aerial ladders and platforms, rescues of all sizes, quick attack units, industrial trucks, and ARFF (aircraft rescue firefighting vehicles). Available schedules

• Monday - Thursday from 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM, plus Optional Overtime on Friday and Saturday
• Monday - Thursday from 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, plus Optional Overtime on Friday and Saturday

Scope

Independently performs plumbing, electrical, and mechanical assembly and troubleshooting with moderate complexity.

Core Responsibilities

• Read and interpret:
  • Blueprints, schematics, BOMs, and specifications
• Independently perform:
  • Pipe cutting, threading, and installation
  • Assembly of valves, fittings, and piping systems
  • Electrical assembly (harnesses, switch panels, circuit boards)
  • Install and repair plumbing systems per build requirements.
  • Perform leak testing using air/water pressure and interpret results.
• Troubleshoot:
  • Plumbing systems (leaks, flow issues)
  • Electrical systems (12V DC and 110V AC)
  • Diagnose issues, disassemble components, and complete repairs.
• Conduct functional testing of:
  • Lights, sirens, radios, and warning systems
  • Perform equipment setup and changeovers.
• Identify discrepancies in prints, BOMs, and shop orders.

Technical Skills

• Strong working knowledge of:
  • Plumbing systems (metal and nonmetal piping)
  • Electrical systems (12V DC / 110V AC)
  • Mechanical assembly practices
  • Ability to work from engineering documentation independently.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic systems (preferred).

Problem Solving

• Determine root cause of failures and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and segregate non-conforming products.
• Assist in corrective and preventive action processes.

The pay scale for newly hired employees in this position at this location in New York is (16.50 - 26.00). This is based on meeting all of the requirements of the role.
