Job summary

E-ONE, a Terex Corporation brand, located in New York, is seeking an experienced technician to perform plumbing, electrical, and mechanical assembly for custom and commercial fire trucks. You will read engineering drawings, cut and assemble piping, install wiring harnesses, and verify systems per build requirements.

This role also involves leak testing, troubleshooting 12V DC and 110V AC systems, and conducting functional tests of lights, sirens, radios, and warning systems.

Qualifications

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, BOMs, and specifications.
  • Pipe cutting, threading, and installation.
  • Assembly of valves, fittings, and piping systems.
  • Electrical assembly (harnesses, switch panels, circuit boards).
  • Install and repair plumbing systems per build requirements.
  • Perform leak testing using air/water pressure and interpret results.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing and electrical systems (12V DC / 110V AC).
  • Diagnose issues and complete repairs.
  • Conduct functional testing of lights, sirens, radios, and warning systems.

Responsibilities

Available schedules:

Monday - Thursday from 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM, plus Optional Overtime on Friday and Saturday

or

Monday - Thursday from 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, plus Optional Overtime on Friday and Saturday

Scope:

Independently performs plumbing, electrical, and mechanical assembly and troubleshooting with moderate complexity.

Core Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret:
    • Blueprints, schematics, BOMs, and specifications
  • Independently perform:
    • Pipe cutting, threading, and installation
    • Assembly of valves, fittings, and piping systems
    • Electrical assembly (harnesses, switch panels, circuit boards)
  • Install and repair plumbing systems per build requirements.
  • Perform leak testing using air/water pressure and interpret results.
  • Troubleshoot:
    • Plumbing systems (leaks, flow issues)
    • Electrical systems (12V DC and 110V AC)
  • Diagnose issues, disassemble components, and complete repairs.
  • Conduct functional testing of:
    • Lights, sirens, radios, and warning systems
  • Perform equipment setup and changeovers.
  • Identify discrepancies in prints, BOMs, and shop orders.
Technical Skills
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Plumbing systems (metal and nonmetal piping)
    • Electrical systems (12V DC / 110V AC)
    • Mechanical assembly practices
  • Ability to work from engineering documentation independently.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic systems (preferred).
Problem Solving
  • Determine root cause of failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming products.
  • Assist in corrective and preventive action processes.

  • Participate in LEAN and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Demonstrate flexibility across multiple work areas.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

The pay scale for newly hired employees in this position at this location in New York is <<16.50 - 26.00>>. This is based on meeting all of the requirements of the role.
