Mount St. Mary’s University is seeking a Plumber II to install, repair, and maintain campus plumbing systems in Emmitsburg, MD. The role requires reading and interpreting building plans, following safety rules, and providing excellent service to campus facilities.

Overtime and on-call adjustments may occur as needed to support university operations. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, 5+ years of experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain plumbing systems and components.

• Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipment; assemble and install valves and fittings.
• Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks; ensure compliance with codes and safety rules.

Position Title:Plumber IIJob Description:Perform all duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor/Manager/Director.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Install, repair and maintain plumbing systems and componentsReview building plans and specifications to determine the layout for plumbing and related materialsIdentify required tools and special equipmentLocate and mark positions for connections and fixturesInstall supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipmentAssemble and install valves and fittingsInstall, repair and maintain water treatment equipment, piping and controlsInstall, repair and maintain underground storm sanitary and water piping systemsInstall, repair and maintain sinks, tubs and toilets, water heaters and conditionersInstall, repair and maintain plumbing fixtures, appliances and trimTest pipe systems and fixtures for leaksMaintain all building codes, installation requirements and relevant legislationPerform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixturesApply all codes to installations, repairs and maintenanceEnsure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are metEnsure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, gradedEnsure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codesEnsure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirementsAssists with snow removal as need.In order to move to Master Plumber must have received satisfactory performance evaluations, reached 5+ years of experience, acquired all necessary licensing, and attended all required University trainings.Must be willing to train/mentor Plumber I.Must be familiar with and adhere to all the safety rules and regulations for the University’s Safety Policy which apply to the work environment.Must be able to adhere to deadlines and exhibit solid customer service and a strong ability to work well with others.Other duties as assigned.Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalency.Ability to read, write and follow instructions.
