Job summary

Medxcel is seeking a Building Maintenance professional for St. Vincent's-Riverside Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. This day shift, full-time role sits in the Facilities department and focuses on keeping critical systems operational.

You will install, repair, and maintain water, steam, heating, and water treatment equipment, while ensuring safety compliance and teamwork with other trades.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance and facility systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair water, steam, heating and piping networks.
• Commitment to safety practices and use of PPE.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and maintains the facility's water supply, wastewater, sewage, storm drainage, and medical gas piping networks.
• Maintains domestic water pumps, steam stations, heating and condensation systems, and water filtration equipment, managing backflow and cross-connection prevention.
• Performs preventive maintenance, follows safety standards with PPE, and tests fire protection systems (valves, pumps, deluge systems).
• Diagnoses system failures to determine repair or replacement needs and responds to after-hours emergencies to resolve hazards.
• Coordinates with other trades, informs personnel of work orders, and participates in meetings, training, and projects.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

License

Must have one or more of the following:

• Relevant license with 3 years’ experience

Education

• Graduate of trade school

Work Experience

• 5 years of related experience in lieu of license


• Other equivalent combination of relevant education or experience
