Job summary

Medxcel is hiring for a Building Maintenance role at Henry Ford Hospital in Jackson, MI. The Facilities team seeks a dependable technician to install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC, steam, and energy systems on a day shift.

You will respond to emergencies, coordinate with staff on work orders, and participate in meetings and training. A high school diploma or trade school graduate with an EPA License Level I and at least two years of related experience is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Trade school graduation is preferred.
  • EPA License Level I is required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, inspects, maintains, and repairs all heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration, and ice-making systems.
  • Applies specialized knowledge of steam distribution, piping, valves, water reheat systems, and energy management systems.
  • Responds to after-hours emergencies, manages power outage procedures, and follows safety protocols with PPE.
  • Coordinates with personnel regarding work orders, ensures compliance with building/safety regulations, and keeps tools/vehicles in safe operating condition.
  • Dedicates 20% of the role to meetings, training, and assisting with special projects.

Qualifications

Must have one or more of the following:

Education
