Job summary

Medxcel in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Day shift Facilities Technician to support the St. Vincent's-Riverside campus. You will operate and maintain critical power and HVAC systems to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services.

Ideal candidates bring a High School Diploma or trade school graduate, plus 2 years of relevant experience and a valid license. The role offers full-time day hours with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within Medxcel.

Qualifications

  • Must have one or more relevant licenses.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; Graduate of trade school.
  • 2 years of relevant experience; any equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operates and controls primary power generation and HVAC systems, including boilers, turbines, generators, reactors, chillers, and cooling towers using control boards and computers.
  • Monitors facility equipment, meters, gauges, and charts at regular intervals to regulate power flow, adjust fluid levels, and detect operational problems.
  • Performs preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs—such as tightening leaking glands and pipe joints to prevent equipment deterioration or failure.
  • Records and compiles operational data in logs, form, and reports, and documents equipment malfunctions to ensure accurate tracking of plant status.
  • Responds to power outages and emergencies by handling outage calls, summoning necessary personnel, and participating in mandatory meetings, training, and special projects.
