Job summary

Service Experts LLC in Salem, Virginia is seeking a skilled Plumber I to join our HVAC and Plumbing team. You will perform installations, repairs, maintenance and troubleshooting of plumbing systems, while upholding safety and local codes.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, completion of a plumbing apprenticeship preferred, and the ability to read blueprints, work with teammates, mentor junior staff, and manage time effectively. Valid driver's license preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship preferred.
• Experience as plumber helper or apprentice.
• Knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Understanding of plumbing systems and materials.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
• Valid plumbing license/certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, drains, and water heaters.
• Inspect plumbing systems to identify issues or defects.
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan layouts.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and team members on requirements and timelines.
• Estimate materials, equipment, and labor costs for projects.
• Carry out installations and repairs of fixtures (sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters).
• Cut, thread, and bend pipes using appropriate tools.
• Test plumbing systems for leaks and proper functioning.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior plumbers and helpers.
