Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Plumber Helper with a can‑do attitude, strong customer service orientation, and attention to detail.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in repairing, installing, and maintaining plumbing systems
- Be available on‑hand to assist the head plumber on the job
- Read blueprints and drawings to determine specifications for plumbing installation
- Determine water supply networks and waste drainage systems
- Install systems to transport water, waste, gases, or liquids
- Cut openings in structures for pipes
- Select materials needed for installation, including pipe type and size
- Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment
- Assemble and install valves and fittings
- Assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, soldering, brazing, and welding equipment
- Install other plumbing equipment such as sinks, tubs, toilets, water heaters, air conditioners, appliances, and trim
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angles
- Observe pressure gauges to fix leaks
- Test pipe systems and fix leaks
- Prepare trenches for pipe laying
- Clean up job site daily
Accountabilities
- Assist in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems
- Support troubleshooting and problem‑solving on job sites
- Follow safety protocols and plumbing codes
- Learn and develop technical plumbing skills
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area
Qualifications
- Knowledge of common plumbing terminology, fittings, materials, pipes, tools, and equipment
- 1–3+ years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Follow oral and written instructions
- Work cooperatively with others
