Job summary

Froedtert Health in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a qualified plumber/fitter to design, inspect, repair, maintain and install plumbing systems in healthcare facilities. You will read blueprints and work with other trades to meet codes and safety standards, with daily digital documentation of work.

Requirements include five years as a plumber/fitter, Wisconsin journeyman license or ability to obtain within 60 days, high school diploma, state-reg apprenticeship completion, and the ability to handle

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Completion of state-regulated apprenticeship required.

Responsibilities

• Design, inspect, repair, maintain and install plumbing systems including sanitary, storm, domestic, lab, fluid and medical gas.
• Work mainly in healthcare-related buildings with blueprints and specifications.
• Read blueprints, comply with codes and safety policies; document work daily.

Job Summary: Design, inspect, repair, maintain and install plumbing systems such as: piping for sanitary, storm, domestic, lab, fluid, and medical gas use as well as associated fixtures, equipment and controls. Work will be performed almost exclusively in healthcare-related buildings. Use of critical thinking skills to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications is required. Plumbers work in cooperation with other trades to ensure that all codes, protocols, and policies are met to ensure safe and efficient completion of all projects. Digital documentation of work must be completed on a daily basis.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Five years as a plumber/fitter in a commercial, industrial, healthcare or facilities operations setting is required. Eight years of experience is preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate Degree is preferred.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION: Completion of a State regulated apprenticeship is required.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades. Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical and other environmental hazards.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: State of Wisconsin Journeyman Plumbing Certification or acquiring Certification within 60 days is required.
