Job summary

Akicita Federal is hiring Plumbers to maintain and repair critical plumbing infrastructure supporting veteran healthcare facilities for the Central Alabama VA Healthcare System in Montgomery, AL. These roles directly support the daily operation of VA medical campuses, ensuring safe and functional plumbing systems for veterans and clinical staff.

You will work a consistent Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 AM–4:30 PM) alongside a skilled trades team serving two VA campuses.

Responsibilities

• Test joints, piping, and fixtures for leaks and pressure integrity across medical facility plumbing systems
• Install, repair, and replace valves, fittings, and piping components to maintain uninterrupted facility operations
• Inspect and test piping systems following repairs, alterations, or new installations to verify code compliance and functionality
• Disassemble, diagnose, and repair damaged pipe sections or fabricate replacement components as needed
• Repair and replace toilets, sinks, and other plumbing fixtures throughout active healthcare facilities
• Conduct routine inspections of piping, fittings, and connections to identify and address wear or defective parts proactively
• Operate hand and power tools common to the plumbing trade safely and in accordance with facility protocols
