Job summary

University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus seeks a Journeyman/Master Plumber to design and install plumbing and mechanical systems on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO. This role performs preventative and corrective maintenance across plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and related infrastructure, and coordinates with clients, project managers, and contractors.

Qualified candidates have 3 years of plumbing experience, a journeyman or master license, and may substitute apprenticeship

Qualifications

  • Three years of progressively responsible plumbing experience in a construction or maintenance and repair environment.
  • Successful completion of a formalized plumbing apprenticeship program or higher level coursework may substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Must possess a Journeyman or Master plumber’s license.

Key Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this position include the design and installation of various plumbing and mechanical systems, performing preventative and corrective maintenance on plumbing, mechanical, fire protection, infrastructure, and HVAC systems, as well as pump repairs, water treatment for closed loops, utility locates, and backflow prevention. Collaborates with clients, project managers, contractors, and other trades to ensure proper installation and operation of facility systems.

Work Location

This role is expected to work on-site and is at the Anschutz Campus in Aurora, Colorado.

Qualifications
  • Three years of progressively responsible plumbing experience in a construction or combination construction and maintenance and repair environment.
  • Substitution: Successful completion of a formalized plumbing apprenticeship program, or higher level, non-correspondence coursework in the same fields from an accredited vocational school or university may substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Necessary special qualification: Must possess a Journeyman or Master plumber’s license.

Colorado law requires that candidates for state government jobs be residents of Colorado at the time of application.

NOTE: This position has been designated as essential personnel, “Subject to call 24 hours per day, seven days per week,” and may be required to carry a pager. Position may also be required to “Stay over late” or “Come in early” to “Cover” shifts, as needed, and may be required to respond to any emergencies as needed. If hired, you will be required to provide effective off-hours phone contact info for emergency call-in purposes.
Anticipated Pay Range

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as 4,955 - $5,747 per month ($59,460 - $68,964 per year). This position is eligible for overtime compensation.

The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

If you have prior state-classified service in the same class series as this position, your pay may be set at a higher amount per the state Step Pay Program implemented on July 1, 2024.
