Job summary

Bastion is seeking a Portable Life Support System Project Engineer to support NASA space program activities in Houston, TX. The role covers EVA spacesuit design, development, procurement, manufacture, test and certification, with team collaboration to translate requirements into robust PLSS solutions.

You will review specifications, lead testing activities, and ensure compliance with NASA standards. The position is onsite with a 9/80 schedule; some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 2+ years of related work experience preferred.
• Knowledge of PLSS/vent loop systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform project engineering for EVA spacesuit design, development, procurement, manufacture, test, and certification.
• Analyze requirements from customers and develop design solutions.
• Update PLSS work scope plans and agreements with PLSS Team leadership.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and analyze PLSS hardware and test configurations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing and integration.
• Review drawings, requirements and system specs to ensure NASA standards compliance.
• Contribute to documentation including test reports, hazard analyses, design reviews, procedures, and TPS creation and execution.
• Other duties as assigned.
