Job summary

SMS group seeks an Electrical Maintenance Tech to maintain and repair factory electrical systems and industrial machinery. You will troubleshoot PLCs, control circuits, I/O devices, and VFD drives, following schematics and standards to keep equipment running at peak efficiency.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, equipment installation/modification, and close collaboration with mechanics and operations to sustain a safety-first, productive work environment in a steel mill setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in an industrial environment, with emphasis on steel mills.
• Must read electrical drawings, blueprints, and diagrams to determine work procedures.
• Ability to program and troubleshoot ladder logic and function blocks.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on complex electrical equipment including PLCs, control circuits, I/O, and VFDs.
• Install or modify electrical equipment following electrical codes and schematics with minimal instruction after general assignment.
• Collaborate with mechanics and operations staff to maintain safety and reliability in a fast-paced setting.
