SMS group Inc. is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician in Osceola, AR. The role focuses on maintaining factory equipment and industrial machinery with PLC and VFD expertise, supporting safety and reliability in a fast-paced steel mill environment.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and implementing preventative maintenance while coordinating with maintenance teams to ensure minimal downtime and optimal production performance.

Formación

• 3+ years minimum experience in an industrial environment; steel mills preferred.
• Experience reading electrical drawings, blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
• Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, I/O systems, and electrical control panels.

Salary Range: $30.00 To $42.00 Hourly

An Electrical Maintenance Tech will maintain and repair factory equipment, industrial machinery, and associated electrical systems.

The right candidate will

• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on complex electrical equipment, including PLCs, control circuits, communication systems, I/O field devices, and VFD drives/motors
• Install or modify electrical equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, and other specifications with minimal instruction after general assignment
• Use Electrical Ingenuity and Work directly with all mechanics and operations personnel in a fast-paced environment to help develop a safety focused and productive atmosphere. Support maintenance teammates to help maintain a positive and efficient work environment focused on safety and reliability.

What you will need

• Demonstrated safety focus and willingness to proactively apply it in a team environment
• Quality and detail oriented with strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills
• Adaptability to accept changes in job duties and eagerness to learn and apply new knowledge
• Reliable team player with good communication skills
• Highly motivated, self-directed, and willing to put in extra hours when needed
• 3 years minimum experience in industrial environment with emphasis going to steel mills. Experience will take account military experience, university time, apprenticeship or combination of all.
• Demonstrated proficiency using precision measuring instruments
• Efficient in the Metric Measuring System a plus
• Basic computer skills; MS Excel, Word, and Outlook is a plus
• Read Electrical drawings, blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
• Knowledgeable of programming and troubleshooting logic to include ladder logic, function block programming.
• Knowledgeable of VFDs, principle design, programming, and trouble shooting skills; I.O. systems (Beckhoff, Allen Bradley) and design layout; three-phase motors and ability to troubleshoot; network infrastructure; basic mechanical components in a mill; basic Hydraulic systems, how they operate and design layout
• Willing to learn and take on multiple roles, such as mechanical and production positions as well as continually improving on primary skill set
• HS diploma or equivalent is required; electrical degree or training is preferred
