Job summary

Steel Dynamics is seeking an electrical maintenance technician to perform electrical and electronic repair and regular maintenance on equipment. The role includes identifying upgrades to improve productivity and reliability, and troubleshooting drive control systems and PLC-based controls.

Qualifications

• Must be safety oriented.

• Computer knowledge, networking; programming experience a plus.
• Strong electrical knowledge of MV/LV systems, hydraulics and pneumatics, breakers and power distribution, motors, motor control equipment, PLCs and drive systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and electronic repair and periodic maintenance on equipment.
• Identify, design and implement changes/upgrades to increase productivity or reliability.
• Troubleshoot, repair and optimize drive control systems, PLC control systems and other closed loop industrial control systems.
