Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled PLC Technician to troubleshoot and repair PLC-driven systems in a fast-paced environment in Saint Augustine, FL. You will program and modify PLC logic, integrate PLCs with HMIs, sensors, and actuators, and collaborate with engineering on system upgrades while mentoring junior technicians.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of hands-on PLC experience with ladder logic and a strong focus on reliability improvements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and supporting PLC-controlled equipment.
• Experience with Ladder Logic programming in Allen Bradley Logix/Studio 5000 is preferred.
• Proficiency in programming user-defined tags, Add-on Instructions, and Structured Text is preferred.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP) is preferred.
• Experience editing HMI applications in FactoryTalk View Studio is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled systems and related components.

Job description

• Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled systems and related components.
• Perform intermediate programming, safety configuration.
• Program and modify PLC logic using standard programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, function block).
• Integrate PLCs with HMIs, sensors, and actuators.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on system upgrades and improvements.
• Train junior technicians and provide technical support.
• This position is a multi-craft role and will be required to support mechanical technicians as needed, approximately 30% of the time in role.
• Utilize predictive measures to enhance reliability.
• Implement and support continuous reliability improvement standards and practices.
• Emergency response: immediate action to address breakdowns and other suddenly developed conditions.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of hands‑on professional experience troubleshooting and supporting PLC‑controlled equipment. (required)
• Experience in Ladder logic programming in Allen Bradley Logix/Studio 5000 Software. (preferred)
• Proficient in programming User defined Tags, Add‑on instructions, and Structured text programming. (preferred)
• Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g. Ethernet/IP). (preferred)
• Experience in editing HMI applications in Factory talk view studio. (preferred)
