Position Summary:

Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electronic components of machinery and equipment. Follows electrical codes, manuals, schematics, blueprints, and specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and test equipment. Works in a manufacturing environment, adhering to policies and procedures to ensure successful task execution.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Replaces faulty switches and other elements of electrical and mechanical systems. Dismantles machinery and replaces defective parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures.
2. Troubleshoots, programs, and maintains PLCs.
3. Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signals, communication, and power circuits. Diagnoses malfunctions in transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, and replaces damaged wires and cables.
4. Installs, repairs, overhauls, modifies, and maintains electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery.
5. Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electrical, electronic, and mechanical components throughout the plant.
6. Maintains plant power distribution systems, performs preventive maintenance, and installs wiring, conduit, and apparatus.
7. Performs routine preventative maintenance on electrical panels and maintains backup copies of equipment programs.
8. Assists in preparing building components and systems for trades or contractors, disassembles, and installs equipment and fixtures.
9. Follows all food safety policies, procedures, and regulatory criteria, including SQF, GMPs, and FSMA.
10. Performs other duties as assigned; travel may be required.

Education and Experience:

• Associates Degree in Electronics, Electronic Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance of industrial equipment, including PLC.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Working knowledge of Ladder Logic.
• Understanding of electronic and electrical concepts and safety standards.
• Ability to use electronic and electrical test equipment such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and circuit testers.
• Knowledge of current national electrical codes.
