Job summary

Valeo in Reno, NV is seeking a PLC Technician to support maintenance activities on active production lines. You will read and program PLC logic with Studio5000, connect data gathering to Rockwell systems, and help improve equipment reliability and performance.

The role requires strong electrical troubleshooting, familiarity with P&IDs and schematics, and experience with industrial automation. On-site position offering growth within a global automotive supplier.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an industrial electrician or PLC technician in manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, calibration, sensors, industrial automation, and equipment maintenance.
• Familiarity with programming in engineering environments for PLCs and industrial controls.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, schematics, and blueprints accurately.
• Experience with vision inspection systems, CNC machinery, sensors, calibration tools, and high-voltage systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatic systems, E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation), and safety procedures related to electrical work.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance staff with troubleshooting by connecting and reading PLC coding using Studio5000 on active production machines.
• Ability to write/add PLC code using Studio5000 on active production machines.
• Link data gathering applications to Rockwell Automation systems.
• Analyse dynamic operating and stopping configurations of equipment.
• Design or update the electrical and pneumatic plans of equipment.
• Manage 3rd party subcontractors.
