Job summary

Electrical Automation Services in Elgin, IL is seeking a hands-on technician to install, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, servo drives, and related control wiring in a manufacturing setting. This on-site role requires ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift and to perform preventive maintenance on complex equipment.

You will diagnose analog and digital controls, ladder logic programs, HMI interfaces, and communication networks (Profibus, Ethernet).

Qualifications

• Must have PLC programming experience.
• Experience with servo drives and motion control.
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Familiar with HMI interfaces and PLC/Ladder logic.
• Knowledge of Profibus/Industrial Ethernet communications.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and troubleshoot PLCs, I/O modules, and wiring.
• Troubleshoot analog/digital controls and 480V power systems.
• Maintain and diagnose encoders, servo motors, and amplifiers.
• Develop and modify ladder logic and PLC programs.
• Support preventative maintenance on conveyors and production equipment.

Job description

Location: This position is on-site in Elgin, IL. Please apply only if you live within 37 miles of Elgin.Ability to work 3rd shift, Overtime (1.5) after 40 hours and double time after 48 hours. 10 paid holidays, PTO upon start, regular and irregular raises based on performance.Duties:Perform installation, configuration and troubleshooting of photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC input/output modules, and all associated control wiring.Provide troubleshooting expertise of analog and digital controls with 480V, 3 phase power distribution systems, motors, variable frequency drives, servo drives, and soft starts.Maintain and troubleshoot position feedback devices encoders, and load cells.Programming and troubleshooting of PLC and HMI interfaces.Perform configuration and logic modifications to PLC control systems.
