Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking a skilled technician for on-site work in Elgin, IL. The role involves installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of PLCs, servo drives, and related control equipment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Experience with servo systems and related motion control.
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting electrical components.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, configuration and troubleshooting of control systems and devices.
• Troubleshoot analog/digital controls with 480V 3-phase power distribution, motors, VFDs and soft starts.
• Program and trouble-shoot PLCs and HMIs; modify ladder logic as needed.
• Diagnose and implement communication protocols (Profibus, serial, industrial Ethernet).
• Provide preventive maintenance on conveyors and production equipment.

Job description

Location: This position is on-site in Elgin, IL. Please apply only if you live within 37 miles of Elgin.Ability to work 3rd shift, Overtime (1.5) after 40 hours and double time after 48 hours. 10 paid holidays, PTO upon start, regular and irregular raises based on performance.Duties:Perform installation, configuration and troubleshooting of photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC input/output modules, and all associated control wiring.Provide troubleshooting expertise of analog and digital controls with 480V, 3 phase power distribution systems, motors, variable frequency drives, servo drives, and soft starts.Maintain and troubleshoot position feedback devices encoders, and load cells.Programming and troubleshooting of PLC and HMI interfaces.Perform configuration and logic modifications to PLC control systems.
