Job summary

A manufacturing company in Dickson, Tennessee, is seeking a technician to troubleshoot electrical components and perform maintenance on AC/DC drives and motors. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical education, along with at least 5 years of industrial maintenance service, especially in PLC programming. Attention to detail, physical strength, and the ability to work independently and as a team are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical education plus 5 years’ experience.
  • PLC programming required.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC’S and various programming software desired.
  • Knowledge of electrical testing equipment such as ammeters, voltmeters, Meggers, conduit benders, and hand tools.
  • Electrical experience in 480-230 1-3 phase services, troubleshooting circuits, motor starters, lighting and control wiring a plus.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder and work in high areas.
  • Ability to work well independently, as well as part of a team.
  • The ability to work accurately, thoroughly and meet deadlines.

Job description

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities

List the 4-8 essential functions of the job.

The technician must also have knowledge and ability to troubleshoot electrical component failures.

Troubleshoot and repair AC / DC drives and motors.

Perform repairs and maintenance as necessary to maintain production at target efficiencies.

Perform and record assigned preventive maintenance tasks.

Housekeeping is a priority to provide a safe, clean and organized work environment.

Position requires a high level of mental alertness and attention to detail, as well as good physical health and strength.

  • May act as the design lead, programming lead, or owner's representative on selected.
  • Develop PLC architecture designs including Ethernet, ControlNet and Remote I/O projects.

  • Knowledge of electrical testing equipment commonly used in an industrial plant, such as ammeters, voltmeters, Meggers, conduit benders, and other hand or power tools equipment related to the job.
