Job summary

CraftMark Bakery, LLC is seeking a Controls Technician to join our night-shift automation team. You will troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and motion systems, and perform preventive maintenance in a modern bakery environment.

Ideal candidates have hands-on expertise with Allen‑Bradley and Mitsubishi PLCs, SCADA/HMI projects, and strong electrical knowledge, with a focus on reducing downtime and improving reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent technical training plus relevant experience.
• 1+ year of industrial controls or maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of processing, packaging, and similar production equipment.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, HMI/SCADA, and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair production and packaging equipment quickly and accurately.
• Plan and perform preventive maintenance; coordinate repair windows and rebuilds.
• Document work accurately in CMMS and maintenance records.

• Compensation: Hourly, $36.00 Hour - $44.00 Hour
• Shift: Nights 5pm – 5am (2-2-3 rotation)
• Training schedule: Mon - Fri 7am – 4pm during the first 2 months
• Bonus: $5000 sign on bonus

What will I be doing?

• Working safely—adhering to all safety, GMP, and 5S requirements and participating in audits.
• Troubleshooting and repairing production and packaging equipment quickly and correctly.
• Planning and performing preventive maintenance; coordinating repair windows and rebuilds.
• Reducing downtime by improving system performance and reliability.
• Assisting with machine scheduling for repairs and major overhauls.
• Contributing to automation and process improvement projects.
• Documenting work accurately in CMMS and on maintenance records.
• Collaborating closely with maintenance and production partners.

What tech will I touch?

• PLCs: Allen‑Bradley Logix 500 and Logix 5000 programming/troubleshooting; comfortable with PLC hardware, software, and comms. Bonus: Mitsubishi and/or Beckhoff PLC/HMI familiarity.
• HMI/SCADA: Upload, modify, and download Allen‑Bradley HMI projects; Ignition SCADA is a plus.
• Motion: Servo systems, motion controllers, VFDs, and feedback devices; preference for Allen‑Bradley motion platforms.
• Networks: Ethernet and other industrial protocols.
• Instrumentation: Flow, temperature, and pressure—configure, calibrate, troubleshoot.
• Electrical: Electrical theory, relay logic, wiring, electrical prints; diagnose both hardware and software issues.
• Documentation & tools: Read schematics, understand electrical codes, find OEM manuals; proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS.

Who should apply?

Seasoned controls/automation technicians from food manufacturing or similarly automated industries. You can install conduit, run wire, and mount devices—and you’re confident with PLC/HMI/SCADA, motion/VFDs, networking, instrumentation, and electrical systems. This is a controls-centric role with heavier emphasis on PLC programming and automation than a typical maintenance position.

Environment & physical demands
